We have an enviable track record of retaining players beyond the age of 15 and want to build on that by attracting others who are not getting appropriate opportunities elsewhere to play and develop. This means continuing to develop individual skills and competences towards identified goals, as part of a broader self-development approach, while providing more opportunities to play across a variety of formats – 40 over, T20, 6-a-side – at ages 16, 17, and 18. Ultimately, we want to see players at these ages move into open-age cricket and we will more rigorously support them to do that.
We are introducing a series of small-group intensive sessions for the more performance-oriented youngster where this fits with their personal development goals.
- building an innings
- range hitting
- fast bowling
- spin bowling
- advanced fielding techniques
- leadership and captaincy
We will be introducing some new approaches including bio-mechanics and video analysis and welcoming guest coaches and speakers.
