Programme directors

Peter Danby

Peter Danby has worked as a facilitator and coach of leadership development since 1992 in over 35 countries around the world.  His approach is grounded in the experience of leading and training teams in the British Army, in the business world, on the mountains and on the sports field. It blends practical experience, research and study with the values that have influenced and shaped his own way of life. It balances the challenge, discipline and drive of the military and sporting world and the sensitivity and intuition from his mystical studies.

With his own company, Chalybeate, he has designed and delivered programmes for individuals and teams in companies such as Astra Zeneca, BT, Mars, Muller-Maersk, The NHS, Royal Bank of Scotland, Rio Tinto, Suez,, SES,  Save the Children, Shaw Trust, SOS Villages and T-Mobile and Diakonia and CACM in Sri Lanka. He has worked as a programme director and is a lead coach at London Business School since 1992 and designs and teaches on Executive Education programmes.  He was a founder member of BP’s Global Leadership Faculty and an associate with The Leadership Foundation for Higher Education (UK).  He was a mentor on the Queens Young Leader programme for selected young social entrepreneurs across the Commonwealth and a coach on UK Sport World Class Elite Coaching Programme for Olympic sports coaches from 2012 to 2016.

He has published papers in the London Business School Strategy Review on empowerment, delegation and leadership and contributed to a book, The Learning Society. He is an author of two books: On Life: A Collection of Poems and Writings and Awaken the Soul, Release the Spirit.

In 2010, he founded a small charitable trust, Small Acts of Kindness which focuses on providing educational opportunities for young people in areas impacted by poverty and conflict. In 2017, Small Acts of Kindness became a registered charity and the Inspire, Sport & Leadership programme leadership programme is currently running in north and east Sri Lanka, for girls in Nepal, school children in Rwanda and young refugees in Greece.
